Modernizing Linuxious

It's time to switch to newer and more modern theme for the site. Enter Chirpy

It felt like it was a good time to bring this website into the modern age a bit.

Ever since Linuxious opened in 2015 it has always used the Poole theme (with minor changes) for the Jekyll static website generator. It was a great no-frills theme, but it lacks a lot of amenities that are somewhat expected these day.

The site’s new theme is called Chirpy and after playing around with it for some time while complementing this change I’ve grown to really like it.

Additionally, I didn’t feel like trying to shoehorn the old static comments script I was using into this theme so I decided to remove comments completely. Receiving new comments has been pretty rare anyway and they were mostly spam. If I’m feeling up to it I might give giscus or something similar a try one day in the distant future, but I don’t feel like it right now.

For prosperity’s sake, here’s how this website looked before this upgrade:
