HHKB Professional Hybrid: The wireless Happy Hacking Keyboard

I purchased the wireless version of the HHKB keyboard and it's great.

Mechanical keyboards are an expensive and sometimes addictive hobby. If you’ve looked at my site at all in recent years you will see that most of my recent posts are about various new keyboards that I have collected.

Well, it has been about four years since I purchased the HHKB Professional Pro, my first Topre-based keyboard, and decided to pick up the wireless version for my Mac Mini.

I ultimately went with the white variant of the Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional Hybrid (CG01000-296801) with non-blank keycaps this time around. However, I may still buy the blank keycaps for it later down the line one day.

I paired it with the HHKB Pro Keyboard Lid (CG01000-299001) and the Ivory-colored Wood Wrist Rest (CG01000-298501) for proper aesthetics. I would have loved to buy the official Bird Electronics Keyboard Lids as they are arguably much nicer looking, but having one imported can be an expense.

The Hybrid is just as great as my other HHKB and interestingly enough despite both keyboards being purchased four years apart their birthdays are from the same year.
