Firefox Configuration - 2015

Some of extensions in this list no longer work with modern versions of Firefox.

I created this page mostly with the intent to just be for my personal future reference later on. However, I hope that you find it useful as well.

Please feel free to recommend other open source extensions and/or userscripts that you may know of as well.

cliget Generates commands which allows you to download files using curl, wget, or aria2. MPL 1.1
Clean Links Converts obfuscated or nested links to normal URLs. MPL 2.0
DuckDuckGo Plus Allows DuckDuckGo search functionality to be available within the address bar, search bar and right-click menu. Apache 2.0
FlashDisable Toolbar button that lets you disable and re-enable Flash with just one click. GPLv3
Greasemonkey It is a userscript manager. It allows you to customize how websites displays or behaves using small scripts. MIT
HTTPS-Everywhere Automatically switches many sites you visit to their secure (HTTPS) version. GPLv3
Policeman Policeman gives you precise control over what web requests are allowed. It is kind of like NoScript & Requestpolicy combined. GPLv3
Privacy Badger Protects privacy by evaluating third-party sites and blocking those that appear to be tracking you. GPLv3
Random Agent Spoofer It sends fake browser profiles at a user defined time interval and includes many extra privacy enhancing options. GPLv3
Reddit Enhancement Suite A suite of tools to enhance Reddit. GPLv3
Self-Destructing Cookies Gets rid of a site’s cookies and LocalStorage as soon as you close its tabs. Protects against trackers and zombie-cookies. GPLv2
Smart Referer Send referrers only when staying on the same domain. WTFPL
SSleuth SSleuth ranks an established SSL/TLS connection and gives a brief summary of the cipher suite, certificate and other SSL/TLS parameters. GPLv3
The Addon Bar (restored) Restores the addon bar which was removed in Firefox 29. MIT
Tinfoil Improves privacy by automatically setting some hidden preferences only available through about:config. MPL 2.0
uBlock An efficient blocker which is easy on RAM and CPU. GPLv3
Wallabag Let’s you send articles to your Wallabag instance which is essentially an open source version of Pocket, Instapaper, etc. GPLv3
